Hey guys, just got back from poker night with my neighbors. 8 weeks in a row I won but I just had too much other stuff on my mind tonight. Like our World Championships of Website Flipping contest.
So far we got some serious partners involved like Sitepoint.com, Keith Baxter, Willie Crawford, and Jeff Mills.
What it’s all about is, me getting a lot of partners together to promote a 100% free contest to find the worlds best website flipper. Reason for this is so I can help create awareness for our industry, brand our SiteFlipAcademy name to thousands, and give recognition to the best website flippers in our industry.
There are lots of prizes donated already, I suggest you go check them out and register as a contender. Registration is free at www.WebsiteFlippingMasters.com and all registered members will get a coupon code for Sitepoint.com discounts during the contest period.
I f you think you have what it takes to be crowned the Worlds Best Website Flipper then go take your title shot by registering. You’ll get a free contender kit that tells you all about the rules and points structure.
Go Bigger,

Today Sheryl over at http://workfromhome-internetbusiness.com/blog/my-first-successful-website-sale writes about making her first successful website flip. Congratulations Sheryl, keep it going! A lot of people think that website flipping has some magic to it or that you just list your site for sale and the next day it gets sold. That’s entirely not the case.
Just like a real estate agent you should always have more then one flip going at a time. While you are waiting for one site to sell you should be working on getting another website ready to flip. It’s important to keep the “pipeline” full because some websites will take 2-3 weeks for a buyer to finally get interested in. And sometimes it may take listing the site 3-4 times before a buyer finally takes the bait.
I say takes the bait because listing websites for sale is what I call the”fishing” process of website flipping. You list a website for sale in a bunch of different spots, which is just like a fisherman using a multiple poles out in the water in different spots all around the lake. The more poles you have out in the water obviously the better chance you have a of catching a fish. Realtors do this all the time except their listing houses and using newspapers instead of online marketplaces (Some use online classifieds).
The flip side to the fishing process is what I call the “hunting” process. Again I borrow this method from website flippings nearest cousin, house flipping. The hunting process is where the real estate agent is actually going out trying to find the buyer on their own. It’s a key part of website flipping that most everyone leaves out. When hunting for a website buyer you should look to competitor websites and vertical markets first.
The reason we do this is because the first person that’s going to want to buy your website is most times your biggest competitor. That’s because they’d rather buy you out and gain more exposure then take the chance of you or a new buyer coming in and taking their customers away from them. Then you go to your vertical markets, for example if you were selling a site that was about how to catch fish. Then you might approach someone who has a site that sells fishing lures or a site that advertises fishing boats for sale.
Website flipping works and people are making lots of money online from home doing it. The key is to learn the SYSTEMS of a successful flipper and follow them almost to a “T” the slightest change can literally kill a deal. Of course I recommend joining “SiteFlipAcademy.com” but feel free to shop around.

The first is actually an article I found on a no-name article site. However, it’s a fantastic read about how to sell a website with no traffic. Hey did he copy me? haha just kidding… Read it here http://www.articlemap.com/Article/4-Techniques-To-Sell-A-Site-With-No-Traffic/81478
Second we have an article on investing in websites in your spare time. This kinda touches on the investor level of website flipping that I teach inside SiteFlipAcademy. Very good article and I wish I could find the writer and ask him to write a piece for inside SFA. Read it here http://millionaire.blogtanker.com/710/how-to-invest-in-websites-in-your-spare-time/
Third we have Bryan Clark who writes tons of great content on the topic of flipping sites over at SiteFlipU.com which is kinda like SiteFlipAcademy but his is SiteFlipUniversity. Don’t worry we’re trying to get him on the faculty board inside SiteFlipAcademy. In the meantime go check out this article on the hot topic of Blog Flipping… Read it here http://siteflipu.com/how-to-make-money-flipping-websites-and-blogs/
Someone go comment on his blog and tell Bryan to sell me some ad space! haha
COMPETITOR ALERT! Nah, I’m just playing I love competition in this market because 1.) it’s likely another list I can cross promote with or 2.) it’s further building awareness about our industry. I would like to know however who is behind this becase it was a pretty good video on buying and selling websites. You can watch the video here http://www.buyingandsellingwebsites.com/welcome-11.php
That’s about it for now, I had another but it’s on my laptop and I’m to lazy to email myself the link! Will tell you about it in tomorrows post though.

Flipsquare.com is a new marketplace to buy/sell websites and domain names. They offer to list your properties for free for the first 30 days. They strive to protect buyers and sellers and eliminate the traditional shady deals that occur in other forums and marketplaces. Here’s a link to their site http://www.flipsquare.com
We always need more places to list our site. However, you should be watching to see how much activity is going on there. If the owner is worth anything he should be trying to attract new sellers AS WELL AS new buyers. Just like it is my job as the king of site flipping to spread awareness to the opportunity in it’s viability as an income stream. The marketplace owners job is to also be spreading awareness.
Not so much as to the viability as an income stream, but as valuable resource to shortcut the amount of work website owners need to take. If no one spreads the word then our industry does not grow. I whole heartedly believe in this industry. I see website flipping becoming main stream and a household word like it’s cousin “house flipping” within 5 years.
